CHICAGO, September 19, 2016 - Mexico-based carrier Interjet has announced it will begin nonstop service between Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) on November 17, 2016.

The Mexico City-Chicago route will have two daily flights. The flights will be operated on Airbus A-320s with a 150-seat capacity.
The flights will have numerous connections to other destinations in Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Interjet flies to 37 destinations throughout Mexico from its hub at MEX, as well as to Columbia Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala and the United States.
"On behalf of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago Department of Aviation is excited to welcome Interjet to O'Hare International Airport," said Ginger S. Evans, Commissioner, Chicago Department of Aviation. "Interjet's service to Mexico City takes advantage of the new U.S.-Mexico air services agreement and offers O'Hare travelers more choices. These t flights are estimated to generate $45 million in annual economic impact for the Chicago region."

Interjet also checks up to 110 pounds of baggage at no extra cost, which can include sports equipment or pets, and in Priority class passengers can check up to 165 pounds of baggage. It also provides complimentary snacks and beverages on its flights and women - only restrooms, in addition to offering permanent discounts for older adults.
