JetStream Music Festival will feature over 20 airports and live music performances
MILWAUKEE (May 5, 2020) – Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE), along with 22 other airports across North America, are coming together for JetStream Music Festival to support local musicians during the COVID-19 crisis.
The multi-hour livestreamed festival will take place at 5 p.m. CST on May 6 on each of the participating airports’ Facebook pages, including MKE’s.
"Milwaukee is known for the World’s Largest Music Festival (Summerfest), diverse cultural celebrations, outdoor beer gardens, and great summertime weather,” Airport Director Brian Dranzik said. “During this challenging time, MKE is excited to showcase local music talent while giving hope for the future of air travel. We’re eager to see our passengers again when they are ready. Until then, let's all ‘recombobulate’ during this virtual music festival. Cheers!"
Airports in Austin, Seattle, New Orleans, Toronto, and more will also feature local musicians that celebrate each city’s unique music culture. Viewers will be able to join the celebration by using the hashtags #JetStreamFest and #JetStreamFestMKE. Viewers will also be able to tip musicians throughout each performance.
MKE is excited to announce that its local talent will be The Rhythm Kings. This dynamic Milwaukee-based ensemble has entertained the Midwest for over 20 years with their rock, jazz, blues, reggae, R&B, and disco stylings. The band performed at the grand opening of MKE’s Summerfest Store in January. They’ve also frequented many festivals including Summerfest and the Wisconsin State Fair.

Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
