Thousand Oaks, CA, March 30th, 2020 – In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) in collaboration with a leading aviation technology company, ProDIGIQ, has upgraded their state-of-the-art mobile apps to provide real-time COVID-19 alerts and updates to its passengers. Through PIT and ProDIGIQ’s swift action, PIT’s more than 8 million annual passengers and employees will now receive up-to-the-minute updates regarding the evolving pandemic. PIT’s official airport app is available on both the Android and iOS platforms.
Originally, the PIT app was heavily used by passengers to receive a plethora of pertinent real-time information such as arrivals, departures, security wait times, parking capacity, shuttle information and more. Now, in addition to the COVID-19 real-time alerts, the mobile app will also provide passengers with helpful reference information including health travel tips and description of PIT’s new COVID-19 protocols. To ensure that passengers easily see the alerts, PIT and ProDIGIQ focused on designing the COVID-19 alert window to provide maximum exposure. COVID-19 alerts pop up on the mobile app’s home screen and are displayed in a bright yellow background.
PIT’s priority is the safety and well-being of its passengers and employees. Through the addition of this new COVID-19 alerting feature, PIT’s passengers can be rest assured that they will be provided with critical up-to-the-minute information during this looming outbreak.
Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
